A quick photo review of the low-cost, ultra-lightweight, and ultra-compact 'DJI Mic Mini,' perfect for beginners who want to get started with wireless microphones
DJI's wireless microphone 'DJI Mic Mini ', known for drones and action cameras, was announced on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The DJI Mic Mini, which is said to have 'excellent sound collection performance despite its surprisingly compact and lightweight body', is a very low price of 7,700 yen (tax included) for the transmitter alone and 24,200 yen (tax included) for the set including the charging case, making it the perfect model for beginners to wireless microphones. I was able to borrow the actual DJI Mic Mini from DJI, so I first checked its appearance and size.

The DJI Mic Mini is available in a set of two transmitters + one receiver + charging case, and a set of one transmitter + one receiver. This time, I was able to borrow the set of two transmitters + one receiver + charging case.
I tried taking out the contents.
The carrying pouch that holds the charging case looks like this, with a smooth and fluffy feel. There is a tag on the left side.
Inside the carry pouch were a charging case, a USB charging cable, a camera audio cable, and two windscreens in two colors.
The charging case seen from the front. The dimensions are 96.10mm wide x 59.35mm high x 41.00mm deep. In the center is the switch to open the lid, and below that are four LED indicators showing the charging level. The surface is rough and cold with a metallic feel.

On the back are the hinge and a USB-C port for charging.
DJI logo on the top.
There were anti-slip rubber feet on the bottom and a sticker with various information.
The weight of the charging case including the contents was 188g.
The charging case lid has been opened.
From the left, there are two transmitters, a receiver, and a smartphone adapter (TYPE-C).
The DJI Mic Mini transmitter measures 26.55mm wide x 26.06mm high x 15.96mm deep. Below is a comparison of the size with an SD card, which is 24mm wide x 32mm high. The main body color is Infinity Black.
There is a clip on the back. The DJI logo is on the clip magnet.
The clip magnet attaches to the clip with a fairly strong magnetic force. By clamping the fabric between the clip and the clip magnet, you can securely attach the transmitter to your costume.
There is a microphone grill on the top.
The windscreen included in the carry pouch is designed to be attached to the top.
The windscreen is attached to the transmitter. The plastic parts of the windscreen snap into place on the transmitter, so it won't come off easily even if you pull on it, and there's no need to worry about the windscreen rubbing against the microphone and causing noise.
There is a charging terminal on the bottom.
There is an LED indicator on the right side.
On the left side are the LED indicator, pairing button, and power button.
The transmitter alone, including the clip magnet, weighs 14g.
The front of the DJI Mic Mini receiver looks like this. The indicator on the top right shows the transmitter connection.
On the top is an LED indicator that shows the recording status. On the right is a dial that allows you to adjust the volume of the receiver. The DJI Mic and DJI Mic 2 receivers had an LCD display that showed the remaining battery life of the transmitter and receiver, but the DJI Mic Mini receiver does not have one.
There was a clip on the back for fixing it.
On the right side is the audio terminal for camera audio and the pairing button.
The power button is on the left side.
On the bottom there is a USB-C terminal and a metal terminal for charging.
When I removed the cover in the center of the bottom, there was a terminal where I could attach a smartphone adapter.
The set also included safety guidelines, a quick start guide, a DJI logo sticker, and warranty information.
The DJI Mic Mini transmitter can be purchased separately for 7,700 yen (including tax). In addition, the single unit also comes with a charging dock.
The carry pouch that comes with the DJI Mic Mini transmitter looks like this.
There is a pocket inside where you can store the transmitter, charging dock, and cables.
Here's a look at the contents of the carry pouch. From the left, there's the transmitter, the charging dock, two windscreens in different colors, and a USB cable for charging.
I inserted the transmitter into the charging dock. The transmitter color is arctic white.
View from the back. There was a USB-C port for charging on the back of the charging dock.
When I weighed the transmitter and charging dock together, it was 21g.
