X spent about a year rebuilding its Android app from scratch, improving loading, scrolling, notifications, and more.

X has announced a complete rebuild of its Android app. This project has been underway since around August 2025, and it is being built from scratch, not just an update with patches.
Today we're announcing the completion of one of the largest engineering projects in the company's history:

We rebuilt the X Android app from scratch
It's faster, smoother and more reliable. But most of all: it will enable us to build new features at lightning speed.

Mr. Beer cited Android apps as X's top priority and recruited members to work with him on X in August 2025. Approximately 11 months after Mr. Bia's call, X has finally completed a complete rebuild of its Android app from scratch. The revamped Android app is faster and more reliable than the old version, and because the underlying structure is new, basic operations, scrolling, loading, and notifications have all been improved overall. Mr. Bia said, 'Please feel free to provide feedback if you find any bugs.'
There are still some rough edges. We're hustling quickly to get features out like hosting Spaces and improve performance on older devices.

If you have any feedback, feel free to let us know about any bugs you catch.
In addition, features that were delayed compared to the iOS version have been added, and it is expected that some features will be implemented in the Android version first in the future.
