NVIDIA unveils 'Cosmos 3 Edge,' a locally running AI model for robots.

NVIDIA has announced ' Cosmos 3 Edge, ' a global model for robots and autonomous vehicles. Cosmos 3 Edge is a relatively compact model with 4 billion parameters and is said to operate on a single graphics card.

Cosmos 3 Edge is an AI model that gives robots and autonomous vehicles the ability to perceive and predict the real world. It supports input of 'text,' 'images,' 'videos,' and 'motion trajectories,' and can output 'text,' 'images,' 'videos,' and 'motions.'

It is designed to predict future states based on an understanding of the world, using a configuration that combines autoregressive and diffusion models. Furthermore, Cosmos 3 Edge works with home graphics cards such as the GeForce RTX series and can complete processing locally without an internet connection.

By incorporating the Cosmos 3 Edge into robots and other devices, they can recognize real-world situations based on RGB images obtained from the camera.

Additionally, the 4-step distillation models for the image generation model 'Cosmos3-Super-Text2Image' and the video generation model 'Cosmos3-Super-Image2Video,' which debuted in June 2026, were also released on the same day as Cosmos 3 Edge. Both models utilize a distillation technique called DMD2 .
