MEXT is developing a technology that treats flash memory, a relatively inexpensive non-volatile memory, as DRAM. Although flash memory is slower than DRAM, MEXT claims that by using 'predictive AI that operates at a lower layer than the application,' flash memory can be made to operate at the same speed as DRAM. By introducing MEXT's technology into AI servers, it is possible to increase the amount of DRAM that can be recognized by the OS by 2 to 4 times while reducing costs by 50%.
