SK Hynix is a South Korean-based memory manufacturer and, along with Samsung and Micron, is one of the three major volatile memory manufacturers. SK Hynix has seen significant profits amid a surge in memory demand due to the construction boom of AI data centers, and its stock price has also risen sharply, reaching a market capitalization of $1 trillion by May 2026.

According to an announcement by NVIDIA and SK hynix, the two companies will jointly develop next-generation memory for use in AI data centers and accelerate semiconductor design and manufacturing. The developed next-generation memory is planned to be used in NVIDIA's AI server 'Vera Rubin,' agent AI CPU 'Vera CPU,' PC SoC 'RTX Spark,' and robot computing platform 'Jetson Thor.'

NVIDIA will use its AI simulation system ' PhysicsNeMo ' to accelerate semiconductor simulations and in-house engineering in the development of next-generation memory. Furthermore, they aim to create a digital twin of their memory factory using NVIDIA technologies such as ' Omniverse ,' ' OpenUSD ,' and ' cuOpt ,' with the goal of fully autonomous factory operation.

NVIDIA also announced that it will be working with NAVER, a major South Korean technology company, to expand its AI infrastructure. NAVER has a large data center called 'Gak Sejong' in Sejong, South Korea, and plans to expand it into a gigawatt-class data center by introducing NVIDIA's DSX Platform .
