I ate the 'Domestically Grown Snow Country Delicious Tomato Pork Cutlet' at Matsunoya, which has an incredibly rich flavor thanks to the combination of garlic, tomato, and pork cutlet.

As a new menu item at Matsunoya, the ' Domestic Snow Country Raised Umami Tomato Loin Cutlet, ' a collaboration with Matsuya's popular

Umami Tomato Hamburg Steak, was released on May 13, 2026. It is said to be an appetizing dish that combines the sweet and tender texture of the 'Domestic Snow Country Raised Loin Cutlet' with a garlicky Umami Tomato Sauce. There was also a version with added cheese, the ' Domestic Snow Country Raised Cheese Umami Tomato Loin Cutlet ,' so I tried both to see what they tasted like.

Arrived at Matsunoya.

The 'Domestic Snow Country Raised Delicious Tomato Loin Cutlet' is being promoted. Matsunoya is a tonkatsu (pork cutlet) specialty restaurant operated by Matsuya Foods, and the 'Domestic Snow Country Raised Delicious Tomato Loin Cutlet' that we're eating today is a collaboration product between 'Matsunoya's Tonkatsu' and 'Matsuya's Delicious Tomato.'

I ordered the domestically raised snow country-grown delicious tomato pork loin cutlet set meal and the domestically raised snow country-grown delicious tomato cheese pork loin cutlet (à la carte). I chose the large portion of rice.

It was served about 10 minutes after ordering.

This is the domestically produced, snow-country-raised Umami Tomato Loin Cutlet. The loin cutlet is topped with Umami Tomato sauce and served with a soft-boiled egg.

The tableware had the Matsuya logo printed on it.

The Umami Tomato Sauce delivers an intense umami flavor and a strong garlic taste the moment it enters your mouth. When eaten fresh, the coating beneath the sauce remains crispy, and the meat has a juicy texture. Along with the rich flavor of the Umami Tomato Sauce, you can also taste the sweetness of the fat.

The Umami Tomato Sauce isn't salty, but the umami and garlic punch are incredibly strong, making it very flavorful and making you want to eat more and more rice. At Matsunoya, if you order a set meal, you can have unlimited rice refills, so it's great that you can eat as much rice as you want without worrying about the balance between rice and toppings.

I was wondering if breaking the soft-boiled egg would make it milder, but the umami tomato sauce was so strong that it didn't make it any milder.

This is what the domestically produced, snow-country-raised cheese and tomato pork cutlet looks like. It's topped with plenty of cheese on top of the delicious tomato sauce.

The cheese adds saltiness and oil to the rich and flavorful tomato sauce, resulting in an overall very flavorful dish.

It's also great to mix the leftover savory tomato sauce with rice. The flavor is really strong, so it's recommended for when you're craving something hearty!
