A thorough check of the Google Pixel 10a's exterior, now featuring a sculpted camera bump.
Google's new smartphone, the Google Pixel 10a , was released on April 14, 2026. The Pixel 10a is the most affordable model in the Pixel series, available for under 80,000 yen (including tax). It also lacks the large, protruding camera bar that is a characteristic feature of the Pixel series, resulting in a flat back. We were able to borrow a Pixel 10a, so we took a closer look at its exterior.
Google Pixel 10a - Simply put, it's the best of both worlds.
This is the Pixel 10a's packaging. The Pixel 10a comes in five colors: Lavender, Berry, Fog, Obsidian, and Isai Blue. I borrowed the Fog version for this review. Isai Blue is a Japan-exclusive color scheduled for release on May 20, 2026.
The packaging consists of a beige box wrapped in cardboard. To remove the cardboard, peel off the sticker on the back.

When I opened the lid, the Pixel 10a appeared.
The box contained the Pixel 10a phone, a USB Type-C cable, a SIM ejection tool, and an instruction manual.
The Pixel 10a has a 6.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels, a maximum brightness of 2000 nits, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for the cover glass.
It also features a 13-megapixel front camera.
The bezel width was approximately 3mm.
The back features two cameras and an LED flash.
The rear camera system consists of a dual-lens setup: a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
The camera area is not protruding; it's flat.
Check the buttons and ports. There is a SIM card slot on the left side.
On the right side are the power button and volume control buttons.
The bottom features a microphone, a USB Type-C port, and a speaker.
There's also a microphone on the top.
The dimensions are 153.9mm (height) x 73.0mm (width) x 9.0mm (thickness). This is what it looks like when held in the hand.
The actual weight was 184g.

The cover is raised above the display surface, preventing scratches when the device is placed face down.

The Pixel 10a is available at the official Google store for ¥79,900 (tax included) for the minimum configuration. It is also available on Amazon.co.jp, where, at the time of writing, the 128GB storage model can be purchased for ¥73,755 (tax included).
