Google's foldable smartphone 'Pixel 10 Pro Fold' unboxing ceremony, checking thickness and opening/closing operation

The foldable smartphone ' Pixel 10 Pro Fold ' was released on October 9, 2025. It is a horizontally opening smartphone that unfolds to reveal an 8-inch screen, and like other '

Pixel 10 ' series smartphones, it is equipped with the 'Tensor G5' processor. I got my hands on one right away, so I first checked out its appearance.

◆Opening
This is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold packaging. It comes in two colors: Moonstone and Jade, and I chose Moonstone this time.

The contents include the device itself, a USB Type-C cable, a SIM pin, and documentation.

◆ Check the appearance
This is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. When unfolded, it measures 155.2mm high x 150.4mm wide x 5.2mm thick, with an 8-inch inner display. It weighs 258g.

The back looks like this. The outer display is 6.4 inches.

It can be folded in a continuous manner, starting from the center.

When folded, it looks like a regular smartphone.

The back is like this. When folded, the size is 155.2mm high x 76.3mm wide x 10.8mm thick.

I turned on the display and it's an OLED display with a resolution of 2076 x 2152, a refresh rate of 1-120Hz, a maximum brightness of 1800 nits (HDR), a peak brightness of 3000 nits, and a contrast ratio of over 2,000,000:1.

The outer display is also an OLED display, with a resolution of 1080 x 2364, a refresh rate of 60-120Hz, a maximum brightness of 2000 nits (HDR), a peak brightness of 3000 nits, and a contrast ratio of over 2000000:1.

The edges of the inner display are slightly raised, which I found to be a bit irritating when I ran my finger over them.

The outer display is smooth, just like the other Pixel 10 series.

Let's take a closer look. First, the top. The speakers and SIM slot are lined up.

There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom.

The power button and volume button are located on the right side.

There's nothing special on the left side.

This is the hinge. According to Google, it has 'reliable durability that can be used for more than 10 years even if you fold it every day.'

When I looked at the hinge from the front, it was smooth.

View from the side when folded.

View from below. When folded, it's only 10.8mm thick, so it does feel quite bulky.

◆Camera specifications
The camera looks like this: a triple camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 10.5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera.

Below is a comparison table of the camera performance of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has the same wide-angle and telephoto camera specs as the Pixel 10, but the ultra-wide camera has the lowest pixel count of the three models.

There is a camera

called the 'inner front camera' on the top right of the inner display.

The outer display has an 'outer front camera.' The two front cameras have exactly the same performance: '10 megapixel Dual PD,' 'f/2.2 aperture,' and '87° angle of view.'

Compared with other models
The Pixel 10 Pro (left) and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold (right) are side-by-side. The Pixel 10 Pro measures 152.8mm high and 72mm wide, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold measures 155.2mm high and 76.3mm wide, making the Fold slightly larger even when folded. The Pixel 10 Pro is exactly the same size as the Pixel 10.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL (left) is 162.8mm high and 76.6mm wide.

Here's a comparison of thickness: the Pixel 10 Pro (8.6mm thick) on the left, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold (10.8mm thick) in the middle, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL (8.5mm thick) on the right.

When unfolded (5.2mm thick), the Fold's thinness is striking.

I actually filmed it opening and closing.

◆ I tried using the original case.
This time I also bought the official Google 'Google Pixelsnap Case for Pixel 10 Pro Fold ', so I'll try putting it on.

The contents were a case and a box with installation instructions.

First, peel off the sticker on the case.

There was adhesive tape on the back of the sticker. When I touched it, it didn't seem to be very sticky. It seemed like it would easily get dusty, so maybe it wasn't meant to be removed very often.

Place the Pixel 10 Pro Fold backside up.

Just put it on from above.

The installation itself was very easy.

Side view with the case attached. The dimensions when folded are 155.2mm high x 76.3mm wide x 10.8mm thick, but with the case attached, the size increases to 159.6mm high x 77.3mm wide x 16.1mm thick.

The case does not interfere with the hinge.

Top panel. There is a hole in the speaker.

The bottom looks like this. There is ample space around the USB Type-C port.

The camera bump was designed to be gentle.

We have also made a video showing how to attach and remove the cover.
