Google announced its Q1 2026 earnings, reporting a 25 million increase in subscribers in three months and an 81% year-over-year increase in net profit, driven by strong performance from YouTube and Google One.

Alphabet's revenue for the first quarter of 2026 is projected to be $109.9 billion (approximately 17.61 trillion yen), up 22% year-over-year; operating profit is projected to be $39.7 billion (approximately 6.36 trillion yen), up 30% year-over-year; and net profit is projected to be $62.6 billion (approximately 10.03 trillion yen), up 81% year-over-year.

Revenue from the services division increased 16% year-on-year to $89.6 billion (approximately 14.36 trillion yen), and revenue from the advertising division also increased 16% year-on-year to $77.3 billion (approximately 12.39 trillion yen). Within the advertising division, Google's search business recorded a 19% year-on-year increase to $60.4 billion (approximately 9.68 trillion yen). Revenue from Google Cloud, the cloud division, increased 63% year-on-year to $20 billion (approximately 3.2 trillion yen).



Revenue from search ads and other advertising segments increased by 19% year-over-year. Google reports that AI-powered features such as Google Search's

AI mode and AI-powered summaries have been well-received, and that 'the frequency of use of search features is also increasing.'

Strong demand for AI products and infrastructure has accelerated the growth of the cloud business once again. Revenue increased 63% year-over-year, exceeding $20 billion for the first time. Gemini Enterprise , in particular, has shown remarkable growth, with the number of paying monthly active users increasing by 40% compared to the previous quarter. However, specific user numbers for Gemini have not yet been disclosed.

In the subscription sector, the widespread adoption of Gemini led to record-high sales for consumer AI plans. The total number of users subscribed to Google's paid subscriptions reached 350 million, up from 325 million in the previous quarter. YouTube and Google One were the main drivers of this paid subscription growth.

Google's AI models are processing more than 16 billion tokens per minute through customer API usage. This is a significant increase from 10 billion tokens in the previous quarter.



Alphabet projected that YouTube's advertising revenue in the first quarter of 2026 would reach $9.88 billion (approximately 1.58 trillion yen), an 11% increase year-on-year. However, this represents a decrease from the $11.4 billion (approximately 1.83 trillion yen) advertising revenue recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025. YouTube's annual revenue (advertising and subscriptions) for 2025 was $60 billion (approximately 9.61 trillion yen).
