In the first quarter 2026 earnings report (PDF file) released on April 23, 2026, Intel CEO Rip Bhu Tan commented: 'I am convinced there is no better partner than Elon Musk. We have great expectations for exploring innovative ways to refactor semiconductor process technology. As of the time of writing, Intel's specific role in TeraFab has not been announced. Technology media outlet Tom's Hardware points out that 'based on Musk's statements, it is believed that they aim to acquire licenses for 14 processes from Intel and integrate them into the TeraFab factory.'
