I went to see the 'Machi★Asobi Mobile Library' that travels around Minamisanriku town.

Machi★Asobi vol.30 will feature an endless number of works and content, including ' Demon Slayer : Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ,' 'Mahoutsukai no Yoru,' 'Azur Lane , ' 'Unmei no Mamodoshi,' ' BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita ,' ' MixChannel ,' ' Kyouki Sanmyaku Naked Peak, ' and many more.
However, what makes Machi★Asobi special is that, in addition to the stages and live performances featuring the cast, staff, and artists of these lavish productions and content, it also hosts events that you rarely see anywhere else.
One example is the 'Charity Auction,' which has been held since October 2011, the first time it was held after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The proceeds from the auction were sent to the disaster-stricken areas as relief funds. The following is a report from Machi★Asobi vol.17 .

Furthermore, using the proceeds from the charity auction, a mobile library was donated to Minamisanriku Town in Miyagi Prefecture, which had experienced damage to its library during the earthquake.

However, since Machi★Asobi involves various companies, including those in anime, manga, and games, the mobile library was decorated with various content-themed wrapping to reflect the spirit of Machi★Asobi. An unveiling event was held at

According to the Tokushima Shimbun, the mobile library departed from the Tokushima Prefectural Government on October 9, 2018, and after visiting Machi★Asobi Cafes in Osaka and Tokyo to collect books, it headed to Minamisanriku Town.

The mobile library operates on a schedule of visiting 10 locations over seven days each month: the first to fourth Tuesdays and the first to third Thursdays. Since I was planning to visit using public transportation, I decided to go see it when it was making its rounds to the Bayside Arena parking lot, which is within walking distance of the 'Minamisanriku Town Hall/Hospital' station on the Kesennuma Line BRT that runs through Minamisanriku Town.
First, I traveled to Yanaiizu Station, the last stop on the Kesennuma Line.

From here on, the section of track suffered extensive damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake and was restored as the Kesennuma Line BRT ( Bus Rapid Transit) rather than a railway line, so we will transfer to a bus.

We arrived at Minamisanriku Town Hall/Hospital Station in about 40 minutes from Yanagizu. As the name suggests, the station is located in the rotary in front of the hospital's main entrance.

The location is here.

The mobile library hadn't arrived yet when we got there, so we drove around the town's hilltop until it appeared in the parking lot.

I parked on the side away from the arena and opened the side cover.

This location is close to the Shizugawa Higashi municipal reconstruction housing complex, which is located northwest of the arena. In fact, during library hours, residents would visit the library with books to return and choose books to borrow next.

This mobile library, named 'Tanpopo-go' (Dandelion), inherits the name of the first mobile library that was donated by Kakuda City in Fukushima Prefecture after the earthquake and operated until 2017.

Since seven years have passed since the vehicle was donated, it appears that the books are being periodically replaced with those in the collection of

Leaving the mobile library, which is still operating in pristine condition, I boarded the Kesennuma Line BRT once again.

It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to Kesennuma Station.

The Minamisanriku Town Mobile Library generally visits Bayside Arena and Sansankan on the first Tuesday, Shizugawanishi Reconstruction Housing Complex 1 and Shizugawanishi Reconstruction Housing Complex 2 on the first Thursday, Irimai Reconstruction Housing Complex and Utatsu General Branch Office on the second Tuesday, Natori Reconstruction Housing Complex on the second Thursday, Tokura Reconstruction Housing Complex on the third Tuesday, Iriya Reconstruction Housing Complex on the third Thursday, and Matsuzaki Housing Complex on the fourth Tuesday.
