The NEXT 2 was a Windows-based portable gaming console that featured high-performance characteristics, including a 2400x1504 resolution OLED display, an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor built on TSMC's 4nm process, and an integrated XDNA 2 NPU that delivered up to 126 TOPS of AI performance.
However, AYANEO has announced that pre-orders for this product have been suspended, and there is no prospect of them resuming.
According to AYANEO, the company was aware that storage prices were rising even before the announcement of NEXT 2, but believed that prices had peaked at that point and decided to proceed with the launch 'even if it meant little to no profit, or even a small loss.' However, contrary to AYANEO's expectations, prices rose even further, causing manufacturing costs to nearly double the initial estimate.
Given the current situation, manufacturing is proving difficult, so they decided it would be wiser to temporarily suspend sales rather than change product prices, and have therefore stopped all pre-orders.
Recently, the demand for AI has led to a series of component shortages, resulting in production stoppages and price increases for high-performance electronic devices such as smartphones, PCs, and game consoles. NEXT 2 has also been affected by these component shortages.

Please note that NEXT 2 will be shipped as scheduled to customers who have already placed an order. After-sales service will not be affected, and it has been reported that there is a sufficient supply of spare parts necessary for repairs.
The NEXT 2 was available at an early bird price of $1,799 (approximately 285,600 yen), with the top-of-the-line model featuring a Ryzen AI Max 395+ processor, 128GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD priced at $4,299 (approximately 682,400 yen).
