A Chinese company has developed a technology to restore hand paralysis by implanting electrodes in the brain, and has also received approval for domestic sales.

It has been revealed that Neuracle Technology, a Shanghai-based company, has developed a brain-computer interface (BCI) and received approval for its sale in China. The developed brain-computer interface is said to have the effect of 'restoring the movement of paralyzed hands.'

Neuracle Technology is a brain-computer interface development company based in Shanghai, China. Their official website features a demo video showing how electrodes are attached to the brain to read brainwaves and input text.

The brain-computer interface approved this time is a system that involves implanting electrodes in the brain and is said to be able to restore the 'function of moving the hands' in patients whose limbs have been paralyzed due to spinal cord injury. Patients eligible for the system must be between 18 and 60 years old, have been diagnosed with a spinal cord injury for at least one year, and have been in a stable condition for at least six months.
A similar brain-computer interface is Neuralink, led by Elon Musk. Neuralink successfully completed its first clinical trial in January 2024 and has since performed successful surgeries on several patients. However, Neuralink products are not yet on sale. For this reason, the approval for Neuracle Technology is considered a 'world first.'

Furthermore, Neuralink began clinical trials in the UK in August 2025, and in January 2026, Musk announced that 'mass production and the operation of the automated surgical system will begin within 2026.'
