A new bug report about what appears to be Aluminum OS has been accidentally published by 9to5Google. According to 9to5Google, the bug report was discovered on January 27, 2026, and describes an issue with ALOS (Aluminium OS) on the HP Elite Dragonfly 13.5 Chromebook. The bug report also includes a video showing Aluminum OS in action, revealing the appearance of the unreleased operating system.
The Aluminum OS screen is shown below. The taskbar is displayed at the bottom, and the top displays the date, time, recording indicator, Gemini icon, EN (presumably the keyboard language), notification icons, Wi-Fi icon, and battery icon. Two Chrome windows are open, indicating that the UI is closer to the PC version than the smartphone version. There are also buttons on the border between the two windows that appear to be useful for adjusting the width.

It appears that you can install various apps from Google Play. You can not only place windows that cover the entire screen, but also place them floating within the screen.

At the time of writing, Google has not released any information about Aluminum OS, and it is unclear when the official version will be released.
