Waymo launches robotaxi service in Miami

Waymo, a company that develops and operates self-driving cars, has announced that it will begin offering services in Miami, Florida, starting in 2026. The service will initially be available in an area of 60 square miles (approximately 155 square kilometers), and will gradually expand to include Miami International Airport and other locations.

Waymo has been offering robotaxi services in five areas of the US, including San Francisco, and Miami will be its sixth. Testing has begun in 2025 , and 10,000 residents have already signed up.
The service area will initially cover Miami's waterfront areas, including Brickell, Miami's business district, Downtown Miami, and the Design District, as well as Little Havana, Coral Gables, West Miami, and South Miami, and is scheduled to expand to Miami International Airport in the near future.

Waymo aims to further expand its service area in 2026, and has identified Washington DC, San Diego, California, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, Texas, Las Vegas, Nevada, Orlando, Florida, Denver, Colorado, Detroit, Michigan, San Antonio, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee as potential locations.
We are also working on expanding overseas, and in Japan we are currently conducting tests in Tokyo in partnership with Nihon Kotsu and others.

The service is also planned to be rolled out in London.
