According to a report from The Information, citing people familiar with the matter, DeepSeek plans to release V4 around February 17, coinciding with the Chinese New Year. Internal testing by DeepSeek employees has shown that V4 outperforms Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet and OpenAI's GPT-4o in coding tasks.

V4 reportedly achieves breakthroughs in handling and processing very long coding prompts, which The Information says could be a potential advantage for developers working on complex software projects.

On the other hand, IT media WinBuzzer pointed out that 'For V4 to take the crown, it needs to demonstrate not only code generation but also agent-like functionality in debugging and repository management. The shift to coding suggests that DeepSeek is targeting the enterprise developer market, where high-precision code generation can provide immediate ROI (return on investment) .'

Ahead of the release of V4, DeepSeek has significantly updated the white paper published on the preprint server arXiv regarding its flagship inference AI model, DeepSeek R1 . The updated information reveals details of DeepSeek R1's three-stage training pipeline.
