The Meta Ray-Ban Display was announced in September 2025 and features a wristband called the Meta Neural Band that can track finger movements to operate the device.
According to Meta, they have received a large number of inquiries since the product's release, and pre-orders are now fully booked through 2026, so they have decided to suspend their international expansion to the UK, France, Italy, and Canada, which was originally scheduled for early 2026. Meta stated, 'We will continue to focus on fulfilling orders in the US while we reevaluate our approach to our international supply chain.'
Meta is exhibiting this product at the technology trade show CES 2026, which began on January 6, 2026, and is also unveiling several new features.
◆Teleprompter function that displays the manuscript on the display
This function allows you to display the notes you have created on the screen. This is useful for presentations and meetings.

◆Finger writing function
This feature uses the Meta Neural Band to track finger movements and transcribes what the wearer writes on their foot or a table onto the device, allowing them to send messages without touching their smartphone.

◆Operate in-car devices through a partnership with Garmin
The Meta Neural Band will work with Garmin's Unified Cabin in-car infotainment solution, allowing users to play games and control in-car devices. According to Engadget, the demo version they tried was limited in functionality, but they were able to use pinch and swipe gestures to manipulate on-screen car models, similar to zooming in and out on a touchscreen, and to play the game '2048' with swipe gestures.
Engadget reports, 'While it's not exactly the experience that immediately springs to mind when you think of in-car entertainment, Garmin appears to be considering practical use cases like opening windows and unlocking doors with gestures.'

In addition, the company is collaborating with the University of Utah to conduct research into converting electrical signals emitted from the wrist muscles into digital signals, allowing people with conditions that limit the range of motion in their hands to operate devices with even the most subtle muscle movements.
