TSMC has not made any major announcements about the start of mass production of 2nm semiconductors, but its technology introduction page states that mass production has begun. According to the information on its official page, mass production of 2nm semiconductors began as planned in the fourth quarter of 2025. TSMC calls its 2nm process semiconductor mass production technology 'N2,' and has revealed that it is manufacturing at Fab 20 and Fab 22 in Taiwan.

TSMC claims that N2 is 'the most advanced technology in the semiconductor industry in terms of both density and energy efficiency.' Incidentally, AMD has announced that it will manufacture its Zen 6 generation CPUs at TSMC's N2 and begin selling them by 2026.

TSMC's roadmap calls for mass production of A16 semiconductors to begin in 2026 and A14 semiconductors in 2028.

TSMC also has a factory in Kumamoto and is currently building a new factory. While the original plan was to manufacture semiconductors with a relatively large process node at the Kumamoto factory, the Nikkei reported that plans are underway to manufacture 4nm semiconductors at the Kumamoto factory. It has also been reported that the start of operations for a 3nm semiconductor factory currently under construction in Arizona, USA, has been brought forward to 2027.

It has also been reported that the United States has issued TSMC a license to install American-made semiconductor manufacturing equipment in its research facilities in China. Reuters also quoted a source as saying, 'Chinese technology companies have ordered more than 2 million H200 units from NVIDIA, but NVIDIA only has 700,000 in stock and has approached TSMC to place new orders.' However, while the U.S. government has lifted its embargo on the H200 to China , the Chinese government has not approved its imports , so it is unclear whether NVIDIA will actually be able to sell the H200 to China.
