According to Deezer, more than 20,000 songs, equivalent to more than 18% of all uploaded content, have been generated by AI and uploaded to Deezer. The number of AI-generated songs uploaded is steadily increasing, and as of January 2025, 10,000 AI-generated songs were uploaded every day, but it has been reported that the number has doubled in just three months.
In January 2025, Deezer released a tool to detect AI-generated music , and it detects and filters music generated by music-making AI such as Suno and Udio , which provide text-based music generation AI services.
Deezer claims that the tool can detect AI-generated music with 100% accuracy, and that it has made 'significant progress in developing a potentially generalizable system that can detect AI-generated content without having to be trained on a specific dataset.'

Aurélien Herault, Chief Innovation Officer at Deezer, said: 'AI-generated content continues to flood streaming platforms, including Deezer, and the momentum shows no signs of stopping. Generative AI has the potential to have a positive impact on music creation, but it must be developed responsibly and with care to protect the rights and revenue of artists and songwriters while maintaining transparency for fans. Thanks to our AI song discovery tools, we have already started to remove AI-generated songs from our recommendation algorithms.'
In addition, regarding Suno and Udio, major music companies Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Records, and Universal Music Group have filed lawsuits alleging that 'they copied copyrighted music in large quantities and incorporated it into their commercial models.'
