Meta's new 'Schools Partnership Program' is a program whereby if a teacher or staff member at a participating school finds and reports a post or account that violates Instagram's Community Standards , Meta will respond within 48 hours. The school account that reported the post will then be notified of the status of the report and whether Instagram will take action against the post or account.
Middle and high schools in the United States can register for the Schools Partnership Program, and a 'School Partner' banner will be displayed on the profile of schools that have registered for the program. Tapping on this banner will display details about the Schools Partnership Program.

In addition, by joining the Schools Partnership Program, educators, parents, and students will receive resources to help them stay safe on Instagram. Specifically, materials such as 'How to teach safe social media use' for teachers, 'How to use social media appropriately' for students, and 'How to encourage children to use social media appropriately' will be distributed to parents.

According to Meta, the Schools Partnership Program is already being tested in 60 schools across the United States. DJ Ashford of Muwekuma Ohlone Middle School said, 'In the first week of partnering with Instagram, accounts that were bullying and harassing were removed. Reports from accounts of schools enrolled in the Schools Partnership Program are prioritized, so schools can reduce student anxiety and increase student safety. The Schools Partnership Program also focuses on preventing inappropriate posts and provides many resources to support students and families in a safe social media experience.'
'Education leaders recognize that they need to take greater control over social media to help students develop a healthy digital culture,' said Richard Clatter, CEO of
