I went to take pictures of bungee jumping from the longest suspension bridge in Japan, but the event was cut short due to strong winds. Report

Dam Park Ibakita is located near Aigawa Dam, where you can enjoy BBQs and water activities. GODA BRIDGE is located in GRAVITATE OSAKA, an activity park within Dam Park Ibakita. For more information on what kind of suspension bridge GODA BRIDGE is, please see the article below.
I've been carefully observing the 'GODA BRIDGE', a non-standard suspension bridge with a length of 420m and a weight of 325 tons that spans a huge dam lake. Report - GIGAZINE

GRAVITATE OSAKA is scheduled to open on Monday, March 17, 2025, and a pre-opening event was held on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The unveiling ceremony was held in the morning, and the first jump ceremony is scheduled to start at 12:30. However, the weather started to look ominous in the morning, and people were seen attaching Teru Teru Bozu to the pillars of GODA BRIDGE.
At 12:30, it was decided that the first jump ceremony would be held without any problems, despite the light rain. The jump platform was located in the center of the suspension bridge.

This is what it looks like when you zoom in.

And here is the video of the memorable first bungee jump. Because it was windy, we decided to wait until the wind died down before jumping, and there was no countdown. Since we jumped in without any preliminary movements, we missed the best shot.

Below is a video taken from a different angle. It is bouncing with Bion Bion.

We returned safely to the jump platform.

Waving goodbye, we crossed the suspension bridge and returned safely.

Next, the first jump of the bridge swing will be held. The bridge swing is an activity where you jump off and then swing like a swing. In the case of bungee jumping, you jump with your feet touching the jump platform, but in the case of bridge swing, you jump with your feet off the ground.

Below is a video recording the first jump of the bridge swing.
Another shot from another angle. It forms a large arc, just like Heidi's swing.

After the first jump ceremony, we were told we would be able to experience an activity where we walked across the suspension bridge, so we waited.

However, the weather got worse and worse, and strong winds began to blow. You can see the strength of the wind by playing the video below.
As we waited, an announcement was made that 'Today's activities have been canceled due to strong winds,' and the event was cancelled. The pamphlet also stated that 'activities may be suspended if wind speeds exceed 10 meters per second.'

We had no choice but to leave GRAVITATE OSAKA. The bands invited to the event continued playing under a roof that protected us from the rain.

On the way home, we drove to see the other side of GODA BRIDGE. The part surrounded by the red frame is the main tower on the left bank of GODA BRIDGE, which is 12m high. The main tower on the right bank is 60m high, and this asymmetry is a major characteristic.

We also took a photo of the empty jump platform. It is securely surrounded by a fence, but it looks like it would be quite a thrill just to stand on it.

You can get a good idea of what GODA BRIDGE is under construction by watching the video below, released by TV Osaka.
