In early March 2025, a new build of the long-deprecated PowerPC version of Windows NT , entii-for-workcubes , appeared. It relies on the PowerPC architecture supported by the original PowerPC version of Windows NT, and is therefore optimized for Nintendo's PowerPC-based game consoles, such as the Nintendo GameCube and Wii .
YouTuber emu_kidid has posted a video of himself using entii-for-workcubes to run Windows NT on a Nintendo GameCube, and playing The Ultimate Doom, which includes the original DOOM and an add-on called Thy Flesh Consumed.

Technology media Tom's Hardware writes, 'Apart from the lack of sound, Windows NT seems to work as expected. Not only are the basic Windows NT features like classic 3D wallpapers like 3D Maze , Notepad, and Internet Explorer available, but it also supports peripherals for Nintendo consoles, so you can take advantage of input options to hook up to a Nintendo GameCube. The regular old USB ports available on the Wii and Wii U also help expand compatibility with USB peripherals.'
Although the Wii's CPU uses an 'overclocked Nintendo GameCube CPU,' Tom's Hardware calls it 'very impressive' to be able to play DOOM on the Nintendo GameCube. The Wii U has 1GB of DDR3 RAM and three PowerPC CPU cores, while the Nintendo GameCube has only 24MB of memory (RAM).
'entii-for-workcubes' is open source and available on GitHub.
