According to a meeting audio obtained by IT news site 404 Media, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at Meta's all-hands meeting on January 30, 2025, 'Everything I say gets leaked. That's the worst, right?'
Zuckerberg, concerned that comments made within the company were being leaked to the outside world, indicated his intention to change the question and answer section of all-hands meetings.
'I want to be able to talk about this openly, but we're trying to create things and create value for the world, not destroy value by saying things that are going to get leaked anyway,' Zuckerberg said.

Going forward, Meta's all-hands meetings will not accept questions directly from employees, but will instead implement a voting system where employees will vote on questions they have submitted in advance, with the results determining the main topic of the meeting.
Zuckerberg said, 'There are a lot of things that I think would be value-destroying if I talked about them, so I'm not going to talk about them, but that's okay. Maybe that's what it's like to run a big company, but it's a bit disappointing.'
During the hour-long meeting, Zuckerberg also shared some of his views he's already expressed publicly, including the possibility of software engineers being replaced by AI, that he believes open source AI will soon overtake closed source AI, and that Meta has made changes to its platform to better align with the Trump administration.
Regarding government collaboration in particular, Zuckerberg said, 'We now have an opportunity to have a productive relationship with the U.S. government, and we're going to take advantage of it.'
The changes to the platform that Zuckerberg mentioned were the abolition of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and external fact-checking. Shortly after taking office, President Donald Trump rescinded approximately 80 executive orders from the previous Biden administration, including those aimed at promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion, and the abolition of Meta's DEI program can be said to be in line with President Trump's political policy.

And while Zuckerberg didn't directly mention it, Meta just agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit against President Trump over the suspension of his Facebook account, highlighting the company's improving relationship with the Trump administration.
Zuckerberg also addressed the topic of DeepSeek's rise, noting that Meta will likely be less affected by DeepSeek than OpenAI or NVIDIA because Meta doesn't sell access to its large-scale language model, LLaMA, unlike OpenAI, which relies on subscription fees for its closed-source AI, ChatGPT.
'We can look at what they've done and also read DeepSeek's documentation and implement it, which would be beneficial for us,' Zuckerberg said. 'We have models that compete with the best models, and we're giving them away for free. We're not charging $20 or $200 a month. It's free. But I think we can do even more now.'
Zuckerberg also spoke about TikTok's future developments, saying, 'I can't control what happens to TikTok, one of our biggest competitors, but I'm confident that Facebook and Instagram Reels will continue to grow regardless of what happens to TikTok.'
