Nissin Foods has released a cup noodle called ' Junmugi Soy Sauce Ramen with the Taste of Wagyu Beef and Seafood,' which recreates the taste of 'Ramen' from 'Junmugi,' a high-end ramen shop whose address is not disclosed, on Monday, January 13, 2025. The noodle is based on dark soy sauce and features a seafood soup made with dried sardines and clams, as well as smooth and elastic non-fried, extra-thick, curly noodles, so I tried it.

First, I tried the soup. I could really taste the umami and sweetness of the soy sauce, and the soup seemed to have a solid body. Because it's soy sauce-based, it's light and gentle on the palate, but the addition of soy sauce sauce with beef fat adds a richness to it, giving it a punchy flavor. However, perhaps because the aroma of beef fat and the flavor of soy sauce were so strong, I didn't really feel much of a seafood flavor.

The noodles are flat and thick, and are described as 'super thick curly noodles.' Before eating, I expected them to have a chewy texture, but when I actually tried them, they were smooth and easy to swallow, and at the same time had a chewy elasticity, making them a perfect match for the soup.
