When you search for 'Google' in Bing search, you get a Google-like Bing.

When searching for 'Google' on Bing from Microsoft Edge, a Bing search box that looks like Google's UI appears at the top. If you continue searching without knowing it, you might mistakenly think it's Google.

Someone caught Bing tricking people into thinking it was Google, and it's a little concerning

When you search for 'Google' in Microsoft Edge, the following search box appears at the top. At first glance, it looks like Google, but it's actually a Bing search box.

If you scroll down you will see links to Google etc.

Try typing the word in the search box.

The search results are as follows:

If you look at the address bar, you can see that it's searching with Bing. Technology media such as Windows Latest point out that 'at first glance, you might mistake it for Google, which may seem sneaky.'

At 100% magnification (default), the search box is cut off and you have to scroll sideways to see it, but there is a cross in the top right corner. Clicking this will make the search box disappear.

After deleting it, it will look like this:

Also, after trying a few times, I sometimes got a search box titled 'Advertising by Microsoft,' which was also powered by Bing.

Technology media XDA Developers commented, 'When you search for Google using Bing, you'll be taken to a suspicious page like Google. Don't be fooled. This is a Bing search results page with just a huge search box pasted on the top. When you use the search box, you'll see Bing search results.

Windows Latest also pointed out, 'This is a genius strategy to move users away from Google Search, which has become synonymous with search engines. Microsoft may have found a slightly sneaky way to reduce the number of users moving away from Bing. Tech-savvy people will scroll to open Google, but those who just want to use a search engine are likely to stick with Bing.'

After Windows Latest published the article, Parisa Tavris, head of product for Google Chrome, said in a statement, 'Microsoft's spoofing the Google homepage is a new tactic aimed at confusing users and limiting their choices.'
