Review of Victor's ear cuff-type wireless earphones 'HA-NP1T' that can be worn like an accessory and do not block your ears
Victor's ' HA-NP1T ' is a lightweight ear cuff-type wireless earphone that weighs just 4.9g per ear and has a stylish design. It does not block the ear, so you can hear the surrounding sounds while playing music. I was provided with this for

The packaging for the HA-NP1T looks like this.
Inside is an instruction manual, a thank you card, a Victor logo sticker, and the HA-NP1T earphones.
USB-C cable and charging case for charging.
Let's take a look at the HA-NP1T earphones themselves. They have an arched structure with a speaker on one side and a controller with a charging port on the other.
The HA-NP1T uses a flexible adjustment mechanism that allows the base of the speaker to move in order to be worn by pinching the ear between the speaker and controller. You can see how the flexible adjustment mechanism works in the video below.

There are buttons on the controller.
The earphone for the left ear has a protrusion under the button. You can tell which earphone is left or right by touching the area around the button with your finger.
The terminal on the bottom of the controller looks like this.

When the earphones are placed in the charging case, the LED indicator on the bottom of the front lights up.
When I weighed the earphones in the charging case, it was 38g.
I tried putting the earphones in my ears. The speaker part is on the front of my ear and the controller part is on the back of my ear. The built-in spring makes it easy to put on with one hand.
When you put them on, it feels like you're wearing a slightly large ear cuff. The speaker part does not block your ear canal, so you can still hear the surrounding sounds clearly.
The weight of the earphones was measured at 9g for both ears. I didn't notice the weight even when wearing them.
When you remove the earphones from the charging case, they will enter Bluetooth pairing mode, and you can connect them from your smartphone's settings screen.
In addition, you can make detailed settings by using the free app 'Victor Headphones' available for iOS and Android.

This time I tried installing the iOS version. Tap 'Get' on the App Store distribution page.
After installation, when you launch the app, the terms of use will be displayed, so tap 'Agree'.
You will be asked for permission to search for Bluetooth devices, so tap 'Allow'.
HA-NP1T will then be displayed, so tap it.
Once you've connected via the app, it will look like this. The battery level and volume adjustment sliders for the left and right earphones are displayed.
The items that can be set are as follows.
In addition to 'NORMAL,' the sound quality can be set to 'HIGH' for a treble-biased balance, or 'BASS' for a bass-biased balance. You can also change the operation button settings.
The earphones can be controlled by pressing the buttons on the controller for different times and lengths. The default settings are as follows:
I actually tried wearing them and listening to music. I usually use in-ear type wireless earphones with noise canceling function, but the sound quality of the HA-NP1T compared to those felt like 'listening to music through a single paper screen.' However, after using them for a while, I quickly got used to it and it didn't bother me. Because they are ear cuff type, you can hear the surrounding sounds clearly and still listen to music properly at the same time.
You can hear music even if someone is talking or making noise around you, but since it is an ear cuff type earphone that does not block the ear hole, sound will still leak if the volume is turned up to a certain extent. Since high and low tones do not resonate, it is only to the extent that 'if you listen carefully, you may hear sound leakage,' but sound leakage may be a concern in quiet places or on crowded trains. The following movie shows the actual wearing of the headphones, with the volume set to medium, music played, and filmed about 30 cm away from the ears.
You can control the volume and skip tracks by pressing the buttons on the earphones' controller. However, the HA-NP1T is only held in place by a spring, and the physical buttons are quite hard to press, so frankly speaking, it's hard to use the buttons. If you connect to a smartphone and listen to music, we recommend controlling the volume and skip tracks directly from the smartphone.
The HA-NP1T's nominal continuous playback time is 8 hours. When I actually wore them for more than 8 hours and played music, the time it took for the battery to go from 100% to 0% was almost 8 hours as stated in the graph below. Also, when I inserted the battery into the charging case after it had gone to 0%, it took about 2 hours to charge to 100%.
Unlike in-ear type wireless earphones with noise canceling function, the HA-NP1T is an ear cuff type, so you can hear the surrounding voices and sounds as they are. In addition, it puts less strain on your ears, so you won't get tired even if you wear it for a long time, and the ear cuff type and stylish design are also big points.
The earphones are fixed by clamping them in the ears, so they won't come off even if you shake your head lightly, and the water resistance is IPX4, so you can use them easily even on rainy days or around water, so they're perfect for listening to music while doing water work indoors, or listening to background music while running or walking outdoors. They also support a multi-point function that allows you to connect to two devices at the same time, making them perfect for listening to music while working or studying.
However, sound leaks out, so I felt it wasn't suitable for quiet places or crowded places. Also, although the sound is clear, the bass is a little weak, so those who want solid sound quality may not be satisfied. I was also bothered by the fact that you can't make detailed settings using the equalizer in the app.
The HA-NP1T can be purchased from Amazon.co.jp, and at the time of writing the article, the price was 16,982 yen including tax.
