I checked the appearance of the latest 2024 model of Amazon's genuine e-book reader 'Kindle Scribe' with improved functionality such as the ability to write notes directly on the book you are reading

The 2024 model of the e-book reader ' Kindle Scribe ',

announced by Amazon in October 2024 and released on December 4th, retains the previous premium pen note function and reading experience, but adds features such as 'Active Canvas', which allows you to write handwritten notes directly while reading. I had the opportunity to touch the Kindle Scribe, so I actually opened it and checked the appearance.

The Kindle Scribe package looks like this. The Kindle Scribe comes in two colors, 'Tungsten' and 'Metallic Jade,' and the one I borrowed this time was 'Tungsten.'

Inside the box were the Kindle Scribe unit, a premium pen, an instruction manual, a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable, and a replacement pen shaft.

The Kindle Scribe looks like this: Its dimensions are 196mm wide x 230mm high x 5.7mm thick, and its display is 10.2 inches.

There are anti-slip pads on the four corners of the back.

The left side has a power button and a USB Type-C port.

There are no buttons on the right side.

The bottom looks like this.

There are no buttons on the top surface either.

The actual weight of the Kindle Scribe was 429g.

Comparing the Kindle Scribe released in December 2024 (left) with the old model of Kindle Scribe released in November 2022 (right), there are no differences in appearance such as size or weight, except that the bezel covering the display is white on the 2024 model and black on the old model.

The thickness of the bezel is also the same between the 2024 model (top) and the 2023 model (bottom).

The same goes for the bezel on the right side of the device.

The thickness of the 2024 model is 0.1mm thinner, but the difference is barely noticeable.

This is what the premium pen looks like.

The tip of the pen can be used as an eraser.

The tip of the pen is equipped with a shortcut button.

Five replacement pen barrels are included, as well as metal fittings for replacing the pen barrels.

Using the metal fittings, you can remove the pen barrel as shown below.

The premium pen has a built-in magnet so it can be attached perfectly to the right side of your Kindle Scribe.

The actual weight of the premium pen was 17g.
