According to Kuo, Apple plans to mass-produce smart home IP cameras in 2026. The smart home IP cameras are designed to seamlessly integrate with other Apple products via wireless connections.



At the time of writing, global smart home IP camera shipments were between 30 and 40 million units per year, and Apple has set a long-term goal of shipping at least 10 million units per year. 'This strategic move shows that Apple is continuing to explore growth opportunities in the smart home market,' Kuo said.

It's been rumored for some time that Apple is planning to get more serious about the smart home sector, with reports already showing that it's developing smart home devices with displays.

'Apple believes that its superior ecosystem, Apple Intelligence, and deep integration with Siri will greatly enhance the smart home user experience,' Kuo said.

According to Kuo, with the addition of hearing assistance functions and a stronger role as a healthcare device, AirPods shipments are expected to increase, and Apple has placed an order with Goertek, which previously produced AirPods, for production of the devices through 2026.
