It has been pointed out that the Indian media organization Asian News International has long acted as a de facto PR arm of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. A Wikimedia Foundation spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by Indian daily The Hindu. The Hindu said, 'According to transparency reports published by the Wikimedia Foundation since 2012, in Wikipedia's history, it has responded to fewer than six requests for removal or modification, including requests from Germany, France and Ukraine. It is unclear whether individual pages were removed in their entirety or only specific content was removed in these cases.'
