@whatdahopper reported that he successfully installed macOS Sequoia on Steam Deck. As proof that he had installed macOS Sequoia, @whatdahopper posted a photo of the Steam Deck showing the option screen to reinstall macOS .
with the help of some people (CorpNewt, among others), we got macOS going on the Steam Deck.

took awhile, but we figured out a fix to make OS's newer than catalina boot, and so, here is the macOS Sequoia recovery running on Steam Deck... pic.twitter.com/0PfqOGoQIp
According to @whatdahopper, the reason the options screen for reinstalling macOS is displayed sideways is because ' there is no GPU acceleration .'
@whatdahopper points out that macOS supports RDNA 2 , a GPU microarchitecture designed by AMD, and that 'like NootRX , Steam Deck's hardware is nearly perfect,' making Steam Deck the perfect device for a Hackintosh (running macOS on a PC other than a Mac).
Technology media Tom's Hardware noted that 'This version of Steam Deck Hackintosh is not intended as a full-fledged replacement for SteamOS 3.' In fact, @whatdahopper, who installed macOS Sequoia on Steam Deck, also said that this Hackintosh is ' certainly pointless .'
While the Steam Deck Hackintosh may end up being just a proof of concept, in the long run it could become one of the most attractive and affordable ways to play with macOS, and is 'a great technological achievement,' Tom's Hardware wrote.
