Renowned analyst says next Apple Vision Pro will be equipped with M5 chip and integrate Apple Intelligence

Ming-Chi Kuo, an industry analyst with a reputation for being a reliable source of leaks about Apple, has revealed details about the next Apple Vision Pro, which will likely go into mass production in the second half of 2025, with the main selling points being the inclusion of the M5 chip and integration with Apple Intelligence.

According to Kuo, the next Apple Vision Pro will be equipped with the M5, an unannounced Apple silicon at the time of writing. Since the first Apple Vision Pro is equipped with the M2 chip, if this chip is upgraded to the M5, the computing power will be significantly improved.

Although the next-generation Apple Vision Pro will use the M5 chip, other hardware specifications and designs will not change significantly from the first-generation model. Therefore, Kuo predicts that the next-generation Apple Vision Pro should be able to reduce costs and sales prices.

The biggest design challenge for Apple Vision Pro is the need to operate the device more intuitively and efficiently. To improve this, Kuo points out that Apple plans to integrate its personal AI, Apple Intelligence, into Apple Vision Pro. He also mentioned that the inclusion of the M5 chip will ensure the user experience of Apple Intelligence.

It is unclear what the selling price of the M5-equipped Apple Vision Pro will be, but if 'cost reduction' and 'weight and battery life' can be improved, Apple Vision Pro will become a more attractive device to users, and 'Apple Vision Pro could become mainstream in head-mounted displays and spatial computing,' Kuo wrote.

Although the first Apple Vision Pro was introduced to the market with great fanfare, it has not generated much buzz since its release, and sales have fallen short of Apple's initial target of 1 million units.

Therefore, it has been reported that Apple is working on developing a cheaper model of the Apple Vision Pro before the second generation model.
