The second season of the anime 'Funeral of Frieren' has been confirmed, 'It's about time to continue our journey.'



Based on the popular series serialized in 'Weekly Shonen Sunday,' the anime '

Funeral of Frieren ,' which began airing in September 2023, has been given a second season.

'Furieren no Furiren' is a manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday by author Yamada Kanehito and illustrator Abe Tsukasa. After the heroes defeat the Demon King, Furiren, a long-lived magician who is a member of the heroes' party, meets new companions and embarks on a journey that unfolds after the heroes' death. It has received numerous awards and the comic has sold over 22 million copies in total.

The anime began airing on Friday, September 29, 2023, with a special first episode broadcast on the Friday Roadshow slot, and a total of 28 episodes were broadcast.

Now, one year after the first broadcast, the long-awaited second season has been announced. The second season will continue the story from the end of the first season (volume 7, chapter 61 of the original manga). Madhouse will be in charge of production, as they did with the first season.



The original authors, Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, have jointly released the following statement:
