'Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' is based on a manga by Koyoharu Gotouge that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. The comics consist of 23 volumes and have been a huge hit, with a total circulation of 150 million copies.
The TV anime series began airing in April 2019, with animation produced by ufotable. Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, which was released in theaters in October 2020, attracted just under 30 million viewers and grossed 40 billion yen. It was a phenomenal hit, drawing more than 40 million viewers worldwide and grossing over 50 billion yen.
The Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Pillar Training Arc, which began airing in May 2024, is a section of the original manga that does not contain much volume, so some predicted that the second half of the series would focus on the battles in the Infinity Castle arc. However, in the end, the series carefully depicted the interactions between Tanjiro and Giyu Tomioka, as well as Tanjiro and the other corps members taking part in the pillar training.
It has also been decided that the fourth volume of the Blu-ray and DVD, which includes the seventh episode of the 'Pillar Training Arc,' 'Rock Pillar Gyomei Himejima,' and the eighth episode, 'The Pillars Assemble,' will be released on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The jacket illustration is an original drawing by character designer Akira Matsushima, and the special features include footage of the stage greeting at the world tour screening in Bangkok in March 2024 and the stage greeting in Mumbai in April.
