The ' browser choice screen ' shown to EU users will feature third-party browsers such as Chrome and FireFox. Browser developers will be able to provide 'additional information about their browser' and will receive detailed data from Apple about the performance of the choice screen. The 'browser choice screen' will be shown to all EU users who have Safari set as their default browser.

In addition, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 will add a new '

Default Apps ' section to the Settings app for EU users. The default apps screen displays a list of apps that users can set as default apps, and in future software updates, users will be able to set default settings for dialing phone numbers, sending messages, translating text, navigation, managing passwords, keyboards, and call spam filters.

In addition, EU users will be able to remove pre-installed apps on iOS and iPadOS, including the App Store, Messages, Photos, Camera and Safari.
