Instagram creators can now make AI doppelgangers to chat with their followers
AI Studio, announced in September 2023, is a feature that allows users to create their own AI chatbot by setting the AI's name, personality, speech style, avatar, and catchphrase. The AI you create can be shared with anyone, and you can enjoy chatting with the AI using Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, etc.
In addition, AI Studio uses the large-scale language model 'Llama 3.1', which Meta just released on July 23, 2024.
According to Connor Hayes, vice president of Meta's AI Studio, influencers who receive a huge amount of messages every day can use AI Studio to quickly answer questions and story replies from users. Hayes explained, 'AI Studio creators can load the AI with comments they've posted, captions they've created, transcripts of reels they've posted, and any custom instructions or links they want to provide, and the AI will answer questions from users on their behalf.'
Creators using AI Studio can also turn AI-generated auto-replies on and off through the Instagram app's Professional Dashboard, and can also set who AI will reply to individually. In addition, the AI's responses will include a disclaimer stating that 'some messages generated by AI may be inaccurate or inappropriate.' Meta explains that 'policies and protections are in place to keep people safe and ensure AI is used responsibly.'
In addition, AI Studio is available from Meta's official website and the Instagram app , but at the time of writing, it is only available in the United States, and the timing of its deployment in Japan has not yet been decided.
