Unmanned Long-endurance Tactical Reconnaissance Aircraft (ULTRA) – Air Force Research Laboratory
ULTRA is an abbreviation for 'Unmanned Long-endurance Tactical Reconnaissance Aircraft.' ULTRA is an aircraft designed for reconnaissance missions in the Pacific region, and was developed in collaboration with DZYNE Technologies , a company that develops automated defense systems.
This is what the ULTRA looks like. It was developed based on a manned sports glider, ensuring high durability while keeping costs down.
It has a flight time of over 80 hours and can carry a load of over 200 kilograms.
The ULTRA is also equipped with a variety of sensors, including electro-optical, infrared and radio sensors, allowing it to carry out reconnaissance missions. These sensors are relatively inexpensive, but because the ULTRA flies at a low altitude, it is able to gather sufficient information.
In addition, ULTRA is said to be easy to operate, and pilots can operate it anywhere on Earth via satellite.
