Sony's flagship smartphone 'Xperia 1 VI' that uses AI to enhance shooting and viewing experiences, and the mid-range model 'Xperia 10 VI' with a long-lasting battery, a review of its appearance



The SIM-free models of Sony's smartphone lineup flagship model 'Xperia 1 VI' and mid-range model 'Xperia 10 VI' were released on June 21, 2024, and models for each carrier were released on July 5, 2024. This time, I was able to borrow both models at the time of release, so I decided to touch them in various ways to see what kind of performance the latest model in the series has. First of all, let's check the appearance.

The packaging for the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI looks like this. Sony uses 'environmental packaging' that does not contain plastic.

When you open the lid, the terminal appears immediately like this.



I took out the 'Xperia 1 VI' and 'Xperia 10 VI' and tried turning them on.



To make the bezels easier to see, I placed the phone on a white desk with a white-based screen. The Xperia 1 VI has extremely thin bezels on both sides, with the top being just wide enough to fit the front camera, and the bottom being about the same width as the top. The screen size is about 6.5 inches.



The Xperia 10 VI has slightly thicker bezels on the left and right sides than the Xperia 1 VI. The screen size is about 6.1 inches.



The back of the device looks like this, with the platinum silver 'Xperia 1 VI' on the left and the blue 'Xperia 10 VI' on the right.



Both the Xperia 10 VI (top) and Xperia 1 VI (bottom) have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the device.



The USB Type-C port is located in the center of the bottom of the device, and the SIM card slot is located to the left of it on the Xperia 1 VI.



The SIM card tray has been pulled out.



You can insert a microSD card on the back.

The actual weight of the device, the Xperia 1 VI, is 190g.



The Xperia 10 VI weighed in at 162g.
