During the Xbox Games Showcase held on June 10, 2024, Microsoft announced several new Xbox Series X/S models. The following three models were announced. The Xbox Series X 'Galaxy Black' is a special color with storage expanded from the conventional 1TB to 2TB. Microsoft said that 'Galaxy Black' was 'inspired by the spirit of exploration and adventure evoked by constellations and outer space.' The price is said to be $599.99 (about 94,000 yen).
The Xbox Series X was also announced, which has 1TB of storage and no optical disc drive. Until now, the Xbox Series X was only available in black, but a new color, Robot White, will be added to the Xbox Series X lineup. The price is $449.99 (approximately 70,000 yen).
In addition, the capacity of the Xbox Series S 'Robot White' was previously limited to 512GB, but now a model with 1TB of storage has also been announced. The price is $349.99 (about 55,000 yen).
Microsoft has stated that the product announced this time will be released during the holiday season of 2024. The release date and price in Japan have not been disclosed.
Additionally, Xbox President Sarah Bond said in April 2024 that the company has established a team dedicated to game preservation and backward compatibility, and that Xbox is aiming for its 'biggest technological leap ever' with its next-generation hardware.
