Atom Tech has released the ATOM Full eBike, an electric mobility vehicle that can be ridden without a driver's license. The ATOM Full eBike has a maximum design speed of 20km/h and is easy to drive with a ride similar to that of a bicycle. It also has a shape similar to a folding bicycle, and can be folded and stored when not in use. A prototype of the ATOM Full eBike arrived at the GIGAZINE editorial department, so we first took a closer look at its appearance.

◆1: Check out the appearance of the ATOM Full eBike
The ATOM Full eBike looks like this. It looks like a bicycle, but it does not have pedals and you drive it by turning the throttle on the handlebars. Note that this vehicle is a prototype, so the appearance may differ from the final version.
The controller is mounted on the left side of the handlebars and the throttle is on the right side.
The front wheel is equipped with a reflector and a disc brake.
The rear is fitted with a luggage rack, license plate and kickstand.
The rear wheel is also equipped with a reflector, disc brake and motor.
The saddle has a thick cushion and there is a reflector under the saddle.
The bottom of the saddle also has suspension.
◆2: Try turning the power on
To turn it on, just press and hold the button on the middle row of the controller.
When the power is turned on, the controller displays the remaining battery level, battery voltage, gear, speed, and distance traveled. Gear can be switched to '1 (sidewalk mode)' or '2 (road mode)' by pressing the plus or minus button while braking. In sidewalk mode, the maximum speed is limited to 6km/h, allowing you to drive on some sidewalks. The maximum speed in road mode is 20km/h.
When you turn on the ATOM Full eBike, the lights on the left and right sides of the handlebars will light up green, and the headlamp on the top of the front wheel will also light up.
The taillights and left and right lights will also light up.
The bottom of the controller has a turn signal switch and a horn switch.
When you flip the turn signal switch left or right, the front and rear lights will flash amber.
3. The folding procedure is as follows:
To fold the ATOM Full eBike, release the lock on the frame.
In addition, it can be folded by releasing the lock at the joint between the handle and the frame.
The procedure for folding and unfolding the ATOM Full eBike can be seen in the following movie.
The ATOM Full eBike weighs 20.8kg, which is easy to carry on flat roads, but can be a bit of a hassle to carry up and down stairs.
◆4: Can be stored in various places
The ATOM Full eBike can stand on its own when folded, so it can be stored upright in a wide entranceway.
It can also be loaded into the trunk of a car.
You can also park the bike in a bicycle parking area in the unfolded state. However, since there is no wheel locking mechanism, we recommend that you prepare your own bicycle or motorcycle security lock.
According to Atom Tech's official website, bicycles can be parked without any problems in bicycle parking lots where each bicycle is secured individually.
◆5: ATOM Full eBike charging procedure
To charge the battery on your ATOM Full eBike, fold the bike up.
You can remove the battery by unlocking it using the included key.
After that, you can charge it from a household power source using the included charging adapter. According to the official website, it takes 5 hours to fully charge, and when fully charged, it can travel up to 40km.
In addition, there is a hole at the front of the frame that leads to the battery's charging cable insertion hole, so you can charge the battery without removing it.
