The data ShinyHunters claims to have stolen includes the names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, details of purchased tickets, order history, and credit card information of Ticketmaster customers, as well as the last four digits of credit card numbers and expiration dates.

The attack affected approximately 560 million Ticketmaster users, and ShinyHunters is selling the stolen data, totaling 1.3 TB, for $500,000 on the hacking forum Breach.

If the data breach is confirmed, it is feared that it could lead to financial fraud and further cyber attacks. Cybersecurity expert Mark Lukey said, 'We expect that the data stolen this time will be used in future phishing and identity theft scams. Users should be very cautious about the emails they receive and the reply addresses they receive, and be careful not to provide any information to attackers who are trying to deceive them.'

Lukey also recommends, 'Implement security settings such as multi-factor authentication to protect yourself.'

The method of attack by ShinyHunter has not been disclosed, and Ticketmaster has not commented on the matter. However, the Australian Department of Home Affairs reported that it was 'aware of a cyber incident that may affect Ticketmaster customers.' A Department of Home Affairs spokesperson said, 'We are working with Ticketmaster to understand the situation.'

The data breach comes amid antitrust charges filed by the U.S. Department of Justice against Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, for 'monopoly and other unlawful conduct that has undermined competition in the live entertainment industry.'
