Review of the portable power supply 'DJI Power 1000' that can quickly charge drones with a maximum output of 2000W and a battery capacity of 1024Wh
The portable power source ' DJI Power 1000 ', which DJI released in Japan on Thursday, April 18, 2024, is equipped with a large-capacity 1024Wh battery and can output up to 2000W continuously. In addition, by using optional expansion accessories, it is possible to charge from a solar panel or in-car power source, or quickly charge a drone. I was able to borrow such a DJI Power 1000, so I tested its performance.

In addition to the DJI Power 1000 itself, the DJI Power 1000 comes with a power cord, a quick start guide, safety instructions, and a warranty card.
This is what the DJI Power 1000 looks like.
On the left side are two AC output ports, with a combined maximum continuous output of 2000W.
The center has two USB-A and two USB-C ports. The USB-A port has a maximum output of 24W, and the USB-C port has a maximum output of 140W.
There is an LCD panel on top of the USB port, which allows you to check the remaining battery level, input power, output power, etc.
On the right side are the AC input port, the SDC input/output port, and the SDC Lite input/output port. The maximum input power of the AC input port is 1200W, while the maximum output of the SDC input/output port and the SDC Lite input/output port is 240W and the maximum input is 400W.
There are no ports on the back.
There is a large exhaust hole on the left side.

The dimensions of the DJI Power 1000 are 448mm long x 225mm wide x 230mm high, and it weighs 13.25kg.
Although it weighs over 13kg, it has two large grips so you can hold it steadily with both hands.
◆2: Check AC input performance
The DJI Power 1000 can be charged at up to 1200W via an AC input port.
At the bottom of the AC input port is a switch that allows you to change the input power to 1200W or 600W.
In 600W input mode, the LCD panel displayed a value of around 580W.
At 1200W, the input display on the LCD panel was around 950W.
◆3: Check AC output performance

However, when I powered the electric kettle while charging the DJI Power 1000, the output power dropped to around 1074W.
The DJI Power 1000 has an automatic power frequency detection function. Since I used it in the Kansai region this time, the output frequency was automatically set to 60Hz.
You can also manually switch the output frequency by unplugging the DJI Power 1000 from the power source and pressing and holding the AC button for 10 seconds.
Now it has switched to 50Hz.
DJI Power 1000 can also be used as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). For example, if you connect the AC input port of the DJI Power 1000 to a household power source and connect the AC output port of the DJI Power 1000 to a PC as shown below, you can supply power to both the DJI Power 1000 and the PC from the household power source. In this state, if the power supply from the household power source is cut off due to a power outage, the output will be switched to the output from the DJI Power 1000 within 20 milliseconds, allowing the PC to continue operating.
In the movie below, you can see how the PC continues to run even if the power cable is unplugged from the AC input port.
◆4: Check the fast charging standard of the USB-C port
I checked the charging standards supported by the DJI Power 1000's USB port using the USB tester ' Power-Z KM003C '. The USB-A port supports the following standards. It supports Quick Charge 3.0 and other standards.
The USB-C port supports the following standards: In addition to Quick Charge 3.0, it also supports USB PD 3.1.

When I connected it to the cigarette lighter socket in my car, it charged successfully.
The input power on the LCD panel was exactly 100W.
The DJI Power Solar Panel Adapter Module allows you to charge the DJI Power 1000 from a solar panel. In addition to genuine DJI solar panels, solar panels from other manufacturers that have an XT60 connector can also be connected.
