The salt mine in Soledar, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine, is known as the largest salt mine in Europe. However, with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in full swing, this salt mine turned into a front-line fortress for Ukraine.
After about a year of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, both the city and the salt mines in Soledal were captured by Russian forces . As a result, ``salt from Soledal'', which was displayed as a standard product in Ukrainian supermarkets, has disappeared.
As an opportunity to once again convey to the world the 'history of Soledal' and the 'fight for freedom of Ukraine', the project 'MINESALT' has been started to recreate the Soledal Salt Mine in Minecraft. The player's goal in Mine Salt is to 'collect salt crystals while exploring the salt mine,' and during the adventure, the player can meet famous people from Ukraine and learn more about the Soledal Salt Mine. The purpose of Minesold is to raise funds to recreate the school in Velika Kostromka, which was destroyed by a Russian missile in October 2022.
