Reports that OpenAI's next-generation large-scale language model 'GPT-5' will be released in summer 2024
It is reported that OpenAI's large-scale language model ``GPT-5'' will be released around the summer of 2024. It is unclear whether it will be a major update from the existing GPT-4 or something like GPT-4.5, but CEO Sam Altman is reported to have said, ``It's better than before.''

GPT-4, which appeared as a 'multimodal AI' that accepts input of not only text but also other content such as images, celebrated its first anniversary on March 14, 2024. When asked when a successor to this AI model, which has helped with various tasks, will be released, CEO Altman has often been vague.
According to Business Insider, CEO Altman saw a demo of GPT-5 and said it was ``awesome'' and ``better than before.'' OpenAI is still training GPT-5 and plans to undergo internal safety testing after training to identify and address any issues before making it available to the public.
