Play review of ``The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood'', a game where you design beautiful tarot cards and control your future destiny with your own card deck.

' The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood ' is a game in which you can make your own cards and predict the future of various people to determine the fate of the universe. I was curious about what kind of game it was, as the story progresses through 'fortune-telling' using an original card deck, so I actually played it.

When you start 'The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood', you will first select the language. Select 'Japanese' and click 'Start'.

Select 'From the beginning'.

A warning was displayed stating that the content contained 'self-harm, suicide, discrimination, gender dysphoria, depression, anxiety. Nudity, sex-related conversations, coarse language, and legal drug use.'

There are 3 save slots. However, the game only autosaves, so you cannot save to multiple slots and check the branching of the story as the game progresses. The game begins when you select a save slot.

The main character is Fortuna, a witch. She once learned about the collapse of a community of witches called the 'Coven' through fortune telling, and told everyone about it. She was seen as dangerous by Aidana, the leader of the Coven, and had her tarot cards, a tool for fortune-telling taken away, and was sent to an asteroid. He will be imprisoned for 1000 years. The story begins when Fortuna, who has reached the limit of her patience after 200 years, summons a demon called 'Behemoth'.

The summoned Behemoth calls itself ``Abramar'' and tries to make a contract with Fortuna. As part of the contract, Fortuna decides to make a card to predict fate.

Fortuna gradually becomes more confident while answering questions from Abramah. The choices you make at this time will determine the interpretation of the cards at future turning points in the story, so if you match them with your own feelings, you will be able to play without feeling out of place.

In the story, first create the first card. Click on the fortune-telling desk on the first floor of the imprisoned asteroid.

Click Create Card.

At the top right is the energy gauge used to create cards. There are four elements of energy: air, water, earth, and fire. Cards can be created by paying an 'energy cost'. One card is created by combining three cards: 'Sphere', 'Arcana', and 'Symbol'. For example, the sphere called 'Tao' below can be created by consuming two air energies. Click 'Select'.

Next, select 'Arcana' and click 'Select'.

Then, select 'Symbol' and click 'Select'.

Finally, create your own original tarot card pattern by dragging the spheres, arcana, and symbols with your mouse and combining them as you like. Once you have created the pattern you want, click 'Finish'.

You can see how the cards are assembled by watching the movie below. Arcana and symbols have the concept of layers, and you can create your own cards by swapping the top and bottom, changing the position, angle, and size, and arranging them as you like.

Once the card is completed, the words and symbolism of the card will be displayed. The meaning of a card changes depending on the energy cost of the sphere, arcana, and symbol, in other words, the way the elements are combined, so there are countless cards that can be created.

In this way, we will learn about the elements of the universe from Abramah while making cards.

When you have 2 or more cards, you can use the cards to tell your fortune.

In the movie below, you can actually see fortune-telling using cards.

Fortuna is good at fortune-telling and predicts your destiny based on the meanings and symbols of the cards. For example, shuffle the cards to tell about Abramah's past.

The card that came out was the 'Fatigue' card.

When you place a card, multiple fates that can be read from that card appear. The energy of the element is written in the upper right corner of the choices. None of the options is wrong, but Fortuna chooses the future she intuitively senses and clicks 'Read.'

The energy of the selected option will be added to the energy gauge in the upper right corner. It is a system that uses energy to make cards and obtains energy by fortune-telling with the cards.

The more cards you have, the more types of cards will show your fortune, and the wider your fortune-telling will be.

Abramah, who has Fortuna make cards to advance the contract, also looks pleased.

And a letter to the asteroid. When you click on the window and read the letter, a witch named Thea from the Tribunal comes to investigate, concerned about Fortuna's imprisonment. Click 'Invite' on the letter.

Thea is neutral and treats Fortuna in a friendly manner. Immediately use the cards you just made to tell Thea's fortune. Depending on the results of the fortune-telling, Thea's way of thinking and behavior will change, which will change the development of the story.

Thea gives her permission to visit, so her friend the witch and her acquaintances visit the asteroid in search of Fortuna's fortune-telling. Fortuna influences the character's fate by having various conversations with visiting friends and their acquaintances, making choices, and telling fortunes.

There are a huge variety of combinations of Arcana, Sphere, and Symbols, and the results of fortune-telling will change depending on the card. In other words, the story unfolds differently depending on the contents of the card deck and its draw. There are points where the outcome changes depending on who you talk to and in what order, and the player can choose whether to tell them something good for the other person or a disastrous fortune-telling result. And even if you predict something good for the other person, you don't know whether it will lead to happiness as a result. While watching the fate of the world, Fortuna's choices are left to the discretion of the player, which is influenced by the fortune telling of the cards.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood has wonderful pixel art animation and ambient BGM, making it feel more like reading a novel than playing a game. The way the fortune-telling results you choose affect various characters has a significant impact on the fate of the world, just like the ripples created by a stone thrown into a river. I was supposed to be in control of my own destiny, but as I experienced the story while talking to various characters, I felt like I was being tossed around by the swells of fate in the universe.
