In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on March 7, 2024, Kuo said, ``Recently, I've received a lot of inquiries about whether Apple plans to mass produce foldable iPhones and iPads in 2025 or 2026.'' According to my latest research, the only foldable product from Apple currently with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook, which is expected to go into mass production in 2027.

Since the MacBook is a notebook PC, there are some people who say , ``Isn't it originally a foldable computer?'' Regarding this, AppleInsider, a news site that deals with information on Apple products, explains, ``In this case, the ``foldable'' part of the MacBook is not the hinge that connects the display and keyboard, but the display itself,'' explaining that the 20-inch display He suggested that by folding the device, the bottom half could be used as a virtual keyboard.

The largest model of current Apple notebook PCs is the 16-inch MacBook Pro . Previously, a 17-inch MacBook Pro was also produced, but sales were discontinued in 2012.

The foldable MacBook predicted by Mr. Kuo will have a large display with a diagonal of 20.3 inches when unfolded, but Mr. Kuo did not reveal the design of the new MacBook.

This isn't the first time rumors have surfaced that Apple is developing a foldable MacBook. Ross Young, an analyst at market research company Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), revealed that Apple is considering developing a 20-inch foldable MacBook display in 2022. Mark Garman of overseas media Bloomberg also reinforced Mr. Young's information by stating in an article , ``I've heard that Apple is exploring a dual-screen, foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid.'' did.

Furthermore, in February 2024, The Information, a business magazine specializing in the technology industry, reported that Apple has been working on two types of foldable devices since 2018. According to this information, one of the two models is similar to an iPhone, and the other is similar to a foldable iPad. Meanwhile, there are also reports that Apple's foldable display prototype failed quality tests, so the project has been temporarily shelved.

If Mr. Kuo's information that the MacBook is the only foldable device Apple is developing is correct, the foldable iPhones and iPads that have been rumored so far will not be realized for the time being.

AppleInsider says, 'Only time will tell if these rumors are true, but where there's smoke there's fire. It's clear that Apple is working on a foldable device, but... When and how that will happen remains a mystery.'
