The Day Before was announced in 2021 and was originally scheduled for a 2022 release. The first trailer for The Day Before immediately caught the attention of gamers, with comparisons to The Last of Us and Tom Clancy's The Division. However, since the developer, Fntastic, was a relatively small indie game development studio, there seemed to be some skepticism from some.
