I tried using multiple apps side by side, collaboratively editing a memo pad in real time, and experienced the unique usage of a large screen tablet with the ``Galaxy Tab S9'' series.

Samsung's newly released Android tablet ' Galaxy Tab S9 ' series on September 1, 2023 has three models, 'Galaxy Tab S9,' 'Galaxy Tab S9+,' and 'Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra,' all of which have IP68 grade dustproof and waterproof performance. The tablet has high specifications such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, which is a very fast next-generation processor, but it also has shortcuts and multifunction functions that improve the tablet's operability. It also comes with a variety of useful features such as split screen for apps that allow you to perform tasks. I actually tried out some of the useful features of the Galaxy Tab S9 that are introduced on the website, such as ``split screen multitasking'' and ``real-time notepad collaboration.''

Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets, like some Galaxy smartphones, always display an oval-shaped icon at the edge of the screen.

Swipe to slide the icon and the 'Edge Panel' will appear.

You can freely select and store apps on the edge panel, so if you put frequently used apps or functions you want to quickly retrieve on the edge panel, you can save yourself the trouble of searching for them from a list. To make detailed settings for the edge panel, tap the gear icon to open 'Settings'.

Select “Edge Panel” from “Display” in Settings.

You can make detailed settings for the edge panel. Edge panels can also be turned off and hidden. In addition to app shortcuts, you can also assign various functions. Tap 'Panel'.

By default, app shortcuts are set, but there are also ``Live Messages'' that allow you to play short movies and enjoy them, ``Smart Selection'' that is convenient for tasks such as work and drawing, and work apps such as Calendar and Files. You can also select from ``Tasks'' for easy access, ``Weather Forecast'' to see the real-time weather, ``Tools'' to use things like a compass, and ``Reminder'' to check your schedule one by one.

In addition, the Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets also display a 'navigation bar' in the red frame at the bottom right of the image below. By default, the list of running apps from the left, the home button, and the back button.

You can configure detailed settings for the navigation bar by selecting ``Navigation Bar'' from ``Display'' in Settings.

I found the navigation bar very convenient when I was not used to operating a tablet, but since it is always displayed except when using a full-screen application, some people may be concerned about its appearance. In such a case, you can switch to ``swipe gesture'' to create a smarter look without displaying the navigation bar. It is also possible to move the navigation bar to a position that is more convenient for use, such as reversing the order of the buttons left and right or selecting the position of the navigation bar on the right or left side.

Let's apply display operations to display multiple apps side by side. The image below is accessing YouTube on Google Chrome and watching a movie. Tap the 'three line icon' on the navigation bar displayed at the bottom right.

Tap the Google Chrome app icon.

Select 'Launch in split screen display' from the menu that appears when you tap the app icon.

Then, Chrome was displayed on the left half of the screen as shown in the image below, and the 'Select app' screen was displayed on the right half. Open 'Samsung Notes' from the list of apps.

You can use multiple apps side by side at the same time, as shown in the image below.

When you open the list of running apps again after 'starting in split screen display', Google Chrome and Samsung Notes are displayed as a set.

Additionally, you can use more apps at the same time instead of having two split screens. Open the app list in the same way, tap the icon of the app you want to use, and select 'Launch in pop-up display'.

As shown in the image below, the Google Chrome app was displayed on a small screen instead of full screen. You can freely control the size of the app, both in height and width.

When you set multiple apps to 'Launch with pop-up display,' the apps that have pop-up display set will be displayed in a list, as shown in the red frame at the top left of the image. Tap these icons to view each app on a smaller screen.

As shown in the image below, you can use the S Pen to perform multitasking such as writing notes or drawing on Samsung Notes while viewing the browser and referring to other materials.

Also, Samsung Notes is said to be able to share progress with other users in real time, so I actually tried that function using the Samsung smartphone

Galaxy Note 8 that I had on hand. When you open the Samsung Notes app on your Galaxy Tab S9, select the human-shaped icon from the menu on the left. Then tap on Create New at the bottom right to move to the 'Shared Note' page.

A new shared note will be created. Send an invitation link to the people you want to share your notes with, and any Galaxy device user can easily access the link.

In the movie below, when you actually access the invitation link on your Galaxy smartphone, you can clearly see how the content written on Samsung Notes is being shared in real time.
