Middletown, Indiana Police announced that on July 31, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a small vehicle traveling west on Route 36 drove several other vehicles at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. It was confirmed that it was overtaking.

Middletown Police Chief Landon Dean witnessed this and began chasing the vehicle. At this point, Chief Dean confirmed that a 360-degree camera was attached to the roof of the target vehicle.

Dean caught up a few blocks away, but the vehicle was still going well over 100 miles an hour, refusing a police order to stop it and pushed on.

The vehicle escaped for several kilometers as it was, but when it tried to turn at the intersection near the stream, it lost control and fell into the river as it was. The driver was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.

The driver has a Florida driver's license and said that he was working for Google and was scared and could not stop.

Google offers a service 'Street View' that allows you to check the surrounding scenery taken from the vehicle on Google Maps, but the shooting itself is outsourced to a contractor.
