From the content posted by Twitter user AntiDRM (@PC_enjoyer) on July 19, 2023, Ubisoft sent an email to the user saying, ``Because you haven't used your account for a while, your unused account will be closed within 30 days.''

Ubisoft's official Twitter account responded to this post shortly, saying, ``You can avoid account closure by logging into your account within 30 days of receiving the email and accessing the ``link to cancel account closure'' included in the email.

In Ubisoft's terms of service , items related to account closure may be closed if certain requirements are met, such as ``There is a notification that the user's account has been unused for 6 months or more.

According to the official Ubisoft

article on account closure, it states that Ubisoft does not automatically close accounts, but as part of its terms of service, it may immediately close unused accounts to comply with local data protection laws. It also states that it may close accounts that have not been used for a long period of time in order to maintain its database, in which case it will notify you by email.

PC Gamer, who reported on this case, said, ``It is unknown how long you will receive a notification if you have not used it, but we have asked Ubisoft for an explanation on this matter, and we will update it if we receive a response.''

PC Gamer continued, ``This is an act of disrespect for customers.I don't think many gamers want to play games with Ubisoft Connect or Ubisoft accounts. These launchers are a burden, so everyone is coming back to Steam.'' In order to play Ubisoft games on a PC, you basically have to start the game from a client called Ubisoft Connect, but since many gamers collectively manage games with the Steam client, PC Gamer criticizes Ubisoft's specification of letting you log in to your Ubisoft account and launch the launcher is irrational.

In addition, the uproar regarding Ubisoft's account closure has been reported in 2021.
