Windows 10 21H2 will end service on June 13, 2023

The Windows 10 version ``

21H2 '' released by Microsoft in November 2021 will end its service on June 13, 2023. The June security update delivered on this date will be the last update that 21H2 will receive.

In March, Microsoft

announced that Windows 10 Version 21H2 will end service on June 13th, stating, 'Customers who contact Microsoft Support after this date will continue to receive support. We will guide you to update your device to the latest version of Windows 10 or upgrade to Windows 11.'

The versions subject to service termination are as follows.
・Windows 10 Home Version 21H2
・Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2
・Windows 10 Pro Education Version 21H2
・Windows 10 Pro for Workstations Version 21H2

After the end of service, Windows 10 21H2 devices will no longer receive critical security updates, monthly updates containing bug fixes, or patches for newly identified security vulnerabilities.

Microsoft plans to encourage Windows machines that have not yet been upgraded to update, saying, ``In order to maintain protection and productivity, Windows Update will be available for Windows 10 consumer devices and management that have reached within a few months before the end of service. We will automatically start feature updates for business devices that are not installed.'

The latest and final version of Windows 10, 22H2, was delivered in October 2022. The end of service date for this version, i.e. end of support for Windows 10, is scheduled for October 14, 2025.
